FLAM moves to the semi final beating UVSA (B) by 3-2 goals in the 1st Lourembam Ananghal Memorial Veterans' Football Tournament 2021 organised by UVSA, Lilong Chajing at Arapti Ground.
The last league round of the tournament saw FLAM upstaging the host team UVSA (B) as the latter was leading by 2 goals in the first half period with Ng Ratan Singh scoring both the goals.
However, in the second half, FLAM rises from the deep slumbers with Ak Mahesh, S Lempa Kom and Sachin Rai fetching a goal each for the victory, enroute to the semi final. Three UVSA players Ng. Ratan, Ng Angousana, Bipin and FLAM player Sachin Rai got yellow cards for delay tactics and reckless fouls.
The semi final matches will have host UVSA (A) taking on FLAM on December 28 while in the second semi final will see VSAI Thangmeiband meet VFC Kakwa on December 29.
In another match, VFC Kakwa held on FC Imphal by 1-1 goals to share a point each.
A Dilip Singh scored the opening goal for FC Imphal while Th. Johny Singh fetched the equaliser for the VFC team in the first half.
On the other hand, UVSA(A) got a walkover point as TBSFA Tabungkhok failed to turn up for the match.
AFC Porompat fetes trainers
The Apunba Fitness Centre, Porompat has feted two of its trainers who had bagged medals in the recently held Mr Manipur Contest 2021 organised by AMBBA at Asha Hall, North AOC.
The two bodybuilders are Keithellakpam Malemnganba who claimed a bronze medal in the Senior category of 75 kg and Tajijur Rahaman who came in the sixth position in the Junior category of 75 kg.
The AFC official presented citation and gift hampers simply to the bodybuilders for their positive performance in the contest.
The AFC Porompat lauded the two trainers for their superlative performance which in turn will help shape and build more youngsters for healthy society and good life. The Centre wishes both the trainers for more laurels in the future.
Referees Exam
The All Manipur Football Association has informed that the Referees Examination of All Jiribam Sports Association will be held on December 28-30, 2021. Irengbam Rabichandra Singh will be the Referee Instructor of the Examination.
MSL, Women's League postponed
The matches of the ongoing 14th Manipur State League 2021-22 and 12th AMFA Senior Women's Football League 2021-22 has been postponed with immediate effect due to some unavoidable circumstances. Revised fixtures will be circulated in due course of time, according to a press release from AMFA.
Thoubal Polo
The Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association will be organising the 2nd Thoubal District Polo Tournament 2022 from January 2 onwards at Tekcham Pologround, Thoubal District. Entry forms and more details can be had from Tekcham Polo Club.
Sepak Takraw trials for Junior & Sub Junior(B&G)
The All Manipur Sepaktakraw Association will be holding trials for selecting Sub-Junior and Junior Boys & Girls on December 28-31 at IMSUC Ground, Heingang Makha Leikai for the upcoming National Championship.
The selection trial for Junior Boys and Girls will be held on December 28-29 while that of the Sub-Junior Boys and Girls will be done on December 30-31. Players who wished to attend the trial are to report to AMSTA General Secretary at IMSUC Ground at 7.30 am.
