The Manipur Cricket Association has picked 20 cricketers for Senior Mens Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 to be held at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh from October 27.
Based on the recommendation of the Senior Men's Selection Committee, the selected players are Muhammed Al Bashid, Laiphangbam Sanatomba Roy, Sunil Singh Salam, Bonny Singh Chingangbam, Nitesh Sedai, Lamabam Ajay Singh, Kabrambam Homendro Meitei, L Kishan Singha, Narsingh Yadav, Chongtham Mehul Shreth Singh, M Langlonyamba Singh, Somorjit Salam, Yumnam Karnajit Singh, Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam, Rk Rex Singh, Ng Johnson Singh, Ch Ishworjit Singh, Sagatpam Jayanta Singh, Kangabam Priyojit Singh and Th Kishan Singh, according to a release issued by secretary MNCA Ksh Peter.
The MNCA also named five players on the reserve list including Longjam Ronald Meitei, Md Sultan Karim, N Jameson Singh, P Prafullomani Singh and Thomas Singh Moirangthem, it stated.
AMFA announcement
The All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has announced that as per instruction from the AIFF, the Association is planning to conduct a grassroots programme for the age group of 6-12 years for Boys and Girls throughout the state at the earliest. Grassroots centres which are interested in holding the programme at their respective centres or venues may submit applications to AMFA by November 10, according to general secretary AMFA L Jyotirmoy Roy.
