The 11th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial State Level Open Football Tournament, will be organised from February 6 to February 27 at SAI sports complex Imphal under the aegis of IGP, Manipur and Nagaland, CRPF, stated 143 Battalion CRPF Lamphelpat on Thursday.
The tournament which will be conducted on a knock- out basis will be organised in close cooperation and support of Imphal West District Football Association and All Manipur Football Association, a release stated.
It stated that the tournament will be organised in memory of late assistant commandant Ng Manoranjan Singh who made supreme sacrifice while fighting Naxalites in Chattisgarh in 2009.
Manoranjan is a native of Yurembam Makha Leikai, Imphal and the only son of Ng Budhachandra and Ng Memcha, it added.
Altogether, 28 top teams of Manipur drawn from State Super League and winners of district leagues will take part in the tournament.
