RCA Lilong lifted the Champion’s title of the 4th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2023-24 played at Model Hr Sec School & Oriental College Ground.
The final match saw RCA Lilong had an easy win, beating AKSDO Khangabok by 139 runs where RCA batsman Md Danish Khan played a hero innings of 71 runs to grab the Man of the Final Match.
RCA opener Md Safwan got a steady start with 28 runs and later Md Danish Khan took charge, making an unbeaten 71 runs while Naesh Hussain made 29 runs to post 189 runs for 4 wickets from 35 overs. AKSDO bowler S Dinesh claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, AKSDO batsmen were bundled out for 50 runs in just 18.3 overs. L Samson top scored with 23 runs. RCA bowler Md. Zunad Khan claimed 5 wickets and Md Danish fetched 2 wickets for the victory.
The Fair Play team of the tournament was given to YUCC Kwakeithel Moirangpurel while Most Emerging Player award was given to Y Avhouba of YWC Langthabal, Highest Wicket taker title for Saikhom Kaiku of AKSDO and N. Kennedy of YUCC, Robinson Sougaijam of PTRC with Highest Run Scorer and M.Thomson of TCMDC Thongju with Man of the Series title.
RCA Lilong pocketted Rs 30,000 with the Champion trophy while AKSDO had to contend with Rs 20,000 with the Runners Up trophy.
