NEOG 2022: Arunachal Pradesh win gold men’s wrestling F/S 79kg

Jawang Khimhuin of Arunachal Pradesh beat Abishek Adhikari of Manipur in men’s wrestling F/S 79kg at the nd North East Olympic Games 2022.

Janwang Khimhuin of Arunachal Pradesh lived up to his moment by winning Gold medal at the 2nd North East Olympic Games 2022 in wrestling. In a thrilling final where Arunachal Pradesh-Jawang Khimhuin won men’s wrestling F/S 79kg in the last seconds of the match to relegate Abishek Adhikari of Manipur into Silver. The Bronze medals were bagged by R Vanlalnghaka of Mizoram and Venu Vadeo of Nagaland.

In the 86kg Men Wrestling Freestyle, N Tyson Singh from Manipur took the first Gold after beating Mizoram wrestler RB LalthanSanga in the final match.

Mizoram was settled with a Silver medal in the second position. Gautam Narzary of Assam and Miren Tayeng of Arunachal Pradesh bagged the Bronze medals. 

On Wednesday, Manipur claimed one Gold and one Silver medal, Arunachal Pradesh claimed one Gold medal and a Bronze medal. Mizoram settled with one Silver medal and a Bronze medal, while Nagaland and Assam settled with only one bronze medal each.
