National Thang-Ta Championship 2021: Manipur bag 15 gold

Host Jammu & Kashmir, Chhattisgarh and Assam took a gold medal each at the National Thang-Ta Championship 2021

Manipur won 15 gold medals on the first day of the 27th National Thang-Ta Championship 2021-22 held at the Indoor Sports Complex, Jammu.

Out of the 18 bouts held during the day in the Sub-Junior Boys and Girls category, Manipur enjoyed the lead, picking up 15 gold medals and one silver medal. Host Jammu & Kashmir, Chhattisgarh and Assam took a gold medal each.

In the Sub-Junior boys event of Phunaba Ama, it was a complete sweep of gold medals by Manipur as they claimed eight gold medals while Assam bagged one gold medal.

As for the Sub-Junior Girls event of Phunaba Anisuba, out of the nine gold medals on offer, Manipur picked up seven gold medals while Chhattisgarh and Jammu and Kashmir bagged one gold medal each.

Over 1000 players from 24 states and UTs of the nation are participating in the National Championship, according to reports.
