The 17th Moreh Youth Club Inter-Units Football Tournament 2021 came to an end on Friday with Chavangphai unit lifting the champion trophy after beating Mission veng, 2-1 in a hotly contested final match.
Benjamin Mate, spokesperson BJP Manipur pradesh attended the closing ceremony as chief guest while social worker T Seiboi Haokip and CO 43 AR colonel Sumit Sood attended the programme as president and guest of honour.
Additional SP, Moreh Sangboi Gangte; general secretary KCA Tengnoupal district LS Selkhojang Baite; chairman, KCA Moreh block Jamkholen Mate and adjutant 43 AR Major Bharat attended as the special guest at the closing ceremony.
Leaders of Kuki Students Organisation, Kuki Kkanglai Lompi, Kuki Women Union and Human Rights also attended the closing ceremony.
Speaking at the programme, Benjamin Mate said that Moreh is one of the most dynamic places and it is also a commercial hub. Youths in Moreh have high potential to grow in the field of sports. They can reach even state and national level if their skills are developed from grassroots, he added.
Colonel Sumit Sood said that the Moreh Youth Club had been working for the development of youths in Moreh town. The AR had also been supporting Moreh youths in relevant issues like - upliftment of youths, skill development and women empowerment.
He also extended financial assistance to the Moreh Youth Club. All together, 13 teams participated in the tournament.
