MPSC bat their way to final in 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament

The Man of the Match was awarded to MPSC bowler Maibam Bijoykumar Singh who claimed 3 wickets from 6 overs.

MPSC Manipur Central Jail bats their way to the final beating YWC Langthabal by 9 wickets in the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament 2021-22 played at Model Higher Secondary School & Oriental College Ground, Imphal West.

In a rain marred limited over match, YWC Langthabal opted to bat first after winning the toss but unfortunately all the top order batsmen fell cheaply, managing just 93 runs for 9 wickets from 26 overs.

Tailender batsman Ngangbam Bingson remained unbeaten with 44 runs while L Dinachandra got 13 runs.
MPSC bowlers M Bijoykumar bagged 3 wickets for 21 runs from 6 overs while K.Kenedy claimed 3 wickets for 18 runs from 5 overs and Rojit, Shanker took 1 wicket each.

Chasing the target, MPSC lost an early wicket of Gelson Singh for 1 runs but S.Sunil with 33 unbeaten runs and P Bonem who also remain not out with 54 runs, steered their team to the comfortable win enroute to the final. YWC bowler M Subash claimed the lone wicket of Gelson.

The second semi final will be played between RULE Malom and KCC Kongba on Friday, April 15 at the same venue at 9.30 am.
