Model Chingamakha registered their third win, beating MPA Thounaojam by 63 runs, in the 4th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2023-24 played at Model Hr Secondary School & Oriental College Ground.
It was a welcome win for Model team as they have managed three wins and one tie match from six games to collect 7 points while MPA team are placed above them on the same point from five matches.
Model Chingamakha batsman S Benjohn produced 23 runs while Biyon Naorem struck 65 runs to put up 129 runs for 10 wickets from 33 overs. MPA bowler Rohit and Albish claimed 3 wickets each.
In reply, MPA failed to get the needed spark from its batsmen and were bundled out for 66 runs in 21.5 overs. Model bowler Ch Chiran was the most lethal bowler claiming 5 wickets for 16 runs from 5 overs and later took the Man of the Match.
In the other matches, YUCC Kwakeithel Moirangpurel snubbed Shadow Thangmeiband by 8 wickets played at Dhobi Lampak, Kongba Khunou.
Shadow made 104 runs for 10 wickets from 29.5 overs while in reply, YUCC reached the target in 20.4 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. YUCC player Bidyashor was the Man of the Match for his 4 wickets and 16 runs.
ESU Wangkhei pulled off a huge 271 runs win over Rule Meitram played at Public Ground Khangabok, Cherapur.
ESU piled up a massive score of 324 runs for 9 wickets from 35 overs with Donba (41 runs), Abhinash (50 runs), Naoba (43 runs) and Suraj (38 runs) enjoying top form. Rule bowler Indrakumar bagged 5 wickets for 38 runs from 7 overs.
Rule Meitram, in their reply, could make only 53 runs for 10 wickets from 19 overs. ESU bowler Bishomacha claimed the Man of the Match for his 7 wickets haul from 7 overs for 15 runs.
YWC Langthabal beat Al-Ameen Lilong by 90 runs at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground. YWC made 183 runs for 7 wickets from 35 overs while Al-Ameen could reply, 93 runs for 10 wickets from 23.2 overs. YWC player Achouba took the Man of the Match for his 31 runs and 5 wickets haul.
