YWC Langthabal recorded a 30 runs victory against PSC Khuyathong in the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament 2022 played at Langthabal Public Ground, Imphal West.
Registering their sixth back to back winning performance, YWC Langthabal were unstoppable as they plundered the bowling attack of PSC team, to build up 171 runs for 10 wickets from 30.2 overs. Middle order batsman Ng Mahesh Kumar batted 51 runs from 46 balls while Ng Bingson strucks 35 runs from 29 balls and H Manikanta got 30 runs.
PSC bowlers L Prasanjit claimed 4 wickets for 20 runs from 6.2 overs while L Martin bagged 3 wickets for 32 runs and Ibungomacha picked up 2 wickets for 25 runs.
PSC top order batsman failed to gather their momentum in the game but a late salvaging effort from the tailender saw the team making 141 runs for 7 wickets from 35 overs, but fell short of the required target. L Prasanjit top scored with 44 runs while Kh Sagarjit got 30 runs. YWC bowler L Bishorjit claimed 3 wickets while Manikanta, Albert and Bishwash bagged 1 wickets each and later YWC batsman Ng Mahesh Kumar was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his 51 runs.
In another match, Muvanlai Athletic Foundation beat THAU Thangmeiband by 5 wickets played at Model Higher Secondary School and Oriental College Ground.
THAU Thangmeiband, who are reeling in the relegation zone of the tournament without a win, received further setbacks when they managed a mere 59 runs for 10 wickets after they won the toss. H.Sanjit was the lone batsman who managed 30 runs while his teammates failed miserably.
Muvanlai bowlers Khaikhotinlal Haokip claimed 4 wickets for 4 runs from 4 overs while Gouminlun Kipgen fetched 3 wickets for 7 runs, Avinash took 2 wickets and Sanjay Kaphie got 1 wicket.
The Muvanlai batsman struggled in the initial stages but they overhauled the target in 12.3 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Shibadatta Singh Ningthoujam remained not out with 13 runs while Thangtingou Sithlou remained unbeaten with 9 runs for the victory. Khaikhotinlal Haokip was declared the Man of the Match for his 4 wickets haul.
YUCC Kwakeithel Moirangpurel beat KASC Khomidok by 8 wickets played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium. KASC Khomidok made 111 runs for 10 wickets from 33 overs while in reply, YUCC reached the target in 25 overs for 2 wickets. YUCC bowler Kh Punshiba Mangang got the Man of the Match award for his 4 wickets haul.
