Manipur University fetes 2nd Khelo India University Games 2022 medal winners

The gold medal in Epee Individual was won by Linthoi Haobam while the second gold came from the Foil Team comprising Ph Anita, Khusboo Rani L, N Mina Devi and G Priyalaxmi Devi.

The department of Sports, Manipur University has feted its medal winning players, who bagged four medals, including two Gold in recent 2nd Khelo India University Games 2022 held at Jain University, Bengaluru from April 24 to May 3.

The reception function attended by vice chancellor, MU professor N Lokendro Singh at the Committee Room of the University laid praises on medal winning performance by its fencers and athletes. Manipur University fetched two Gold and Bronze medals in Fencing and one Bronze from Athletic event.

The gold medal in Epee Individual was won by Linthoi Haobam while the second gold came from the Foil Team comprising Ph Anita, Khusboo Rani L, N Mina Devi and G Priyalaxmi Devi. The Bronze medal was collected by Ph Anita Chanu in Foil Individual.  H Bhumeshwory Devi claimed a Bronze medal in Women Athletic event.

The MU fencing team was led by H Jadavchandra and H Leimarembi as manager while H Manglemba, S Roshan as Coach and L Thoimani Devi was the manager cum coach of Athletic. The Manipur University also fielded players in Archery (W), Judo (W) and Boxing (M and W) but failed to get any medals.

The cash awards for individual gold were Rs 15,000 while in Team Event was Rs 10,000 whereas for Individual Bronze medal was Rs 7,000.
