Lucas, Atap, Bikcy, Rivaskar enter semi final of CYLC Men's Open Tennis Tournament

Kuki Sporting Club, Kangpokpi will try their strength against Classic Football Academy, Chingmeirong in the final of the 10th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial CRPF Football Tournament 2019-20 to be played on January 29 at Artificial Turf, SAI Sports Complex, Takyel. In the semi final matches of the meet, Classic FA beat YUFC Ukhrul by 6-3 goals during penalty shootout while KSC Kangpokpi edged out Sagolband United by 4-1 goals.

YUFC Ukhrul sent a strong signal to its younger counterparts Classic as the former spread out quite early in the game and it was the ever dependable Blessing Keishing who struck the opening goal in 28 minute to enjoy the first half. Classic FA played safe in the early period but they were further burdened by YUFC as they increased the scorecard with Blessing Keishing hammering home his second goal in 57 minute.

Beaten but not yet out, Classic rise from the deep and started to swarm out from the flanks and bring back the team from the brink of elimination to delivers two quick goals from Joel in 90 minute and Bijeshwar in 90 plus 4 minute to level 2-2 goals, needing the fate of the game to decided by kicks from penalty spot. With their spirit high, Classic FA converted all four kicks Serto, Dimngel, Dettol, Robert to perfection but YUFC managed to get just one kick through from Ayat while others failed to find the angle. YUFC player Julian and Classic player Robert got yellow cards in the match.

On the other hand, KSC Kangpokpi pulled the life out of Sagolband United by 4-1 goals, to move into the final.

Sagolband United players, which most of them are recuperating from their injury, adopted strike and defensive tactics as Anandkumar brought up the first goal in 23 minute. However luck willed otherwise as in the melee of having the upper hand, SU conceded an own goal from Lenin in 26 minute to draw parity to the scoreline.

The second half saw KSC latching on every opportunity they got and made the leap when Solomon strucks thrice in 53rd, 70th and 82 minute to bring up his hattrick for the victory. KSC players Ginkholen, Lunkhominlem and Sagoland United players Anandkumar, Eliminhao Kilong got yellow cards in the match.

Lucas moves into the semi final of the Men's Open in the 11th CYLC State Open Tennis Tournament 2022 which got underway at Singjamei Chingamakha Court. In the quarter final matches, Lucas overcame Luching by 8-7(7-4) game while Atap beat Bona by 8-7(7-5) game, Bicky beat Aken by 8-0 game and Rivaskar beat Ratul by 8-1 game to move into the semi final. In the 35 plus double event, the pair of Bona and Rabi beat Lucas and Balkrishna by 8-2 game while the pair of Birla and Ibohal got a walkover into the semi final of the meet. As for the 45 plus double semi final, Tule and his partner Kangjamba beat Ramkumar and Romeo by 8-2 game while Ibohal and Jayanta beat Ranjan and Prakash by 8-3 game, to enter the final.

Chingkheihunba PC moves into final of 17th Women's State Polo Tournament

Chingkheihunba Polo Club beat Thangmeiband Polo Club by 6-0 goals to move into the final of the 17th Women's State Level Polo Tournament 2022 organized by AMPA and played at Iroisemba Kangjeibung, Imphal West. Chingkheihunba Polo Club flourished in the match, striking in every chukker for the victory. Neelu Rk scored three goals while I. Sangita fetched two goals and skipper Th. Tanna chipped in with one goal. As for the 5th Junior Boys U-16 State Polo, Arvind Polo Club(A) thrashed Ibudhou Marjing Polo team by 10-1 goals. Dominating the game, Arvind PC struck at regular intervals with Th. Nongpoknganba hitting five goals while Kh. Bikash scored three goals and A. Kishan fetched two goals for the victory. The lone goal for the Ibudhou Marjing team was scored by Kh. Suraj. The other match saw, Arvind Polo Club(B) beating New Vision Polo Team, Yairipok by 5-0 goals. Calvin scored two goals while Kunal Bhatia, Yatharth Sarangi, M. Tomthin fetched one goal each.
  

Thang-Ta Championship 2022

The Huyel Langlon Thang-Tta Association, Manipur will be organizing the 32nd State Thang-Ta Championship 2022 at Thang-Ta Shanglen, Yumnam Huidrom from February 20-25. The Championship will be held in Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior category for both and girls in the event of Phunaba Ama, Phunaba Anisuba and Thang-Haibi, Thanglon and Khonglon-Khutlon.

KRYPSA, YWC wins AMFA Senior Women's Football

KRYPSA Naoremthong blanked WFA Kakching by 6-0 goals 12th AMFA Senior Women's Football League 2021-22(Pre-Qualifying Round for IWL) played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong. WFA Kakching failed to offer any resistance to KRYPSA who raided its rival territory at will starting from 3 minute when Roja Devi strucks the opening goal. Later she went on to add two more goals to team coffers. L.Babicha Devi and Babysana Devi fetch one goal each. In the other matches, YWC Lanthabal beat ICSA Irengbam by 2-0 goals with Kimte Lingel and T. Toibisana fetching a goal each.

MPSC Police HQ, ESU Wangkhei settles for a goalless draw

PTCC Patsoi bring up 3 wickets win over Cyclone Thangmeiband in the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2021-22 played at YCWO Ground, Heinoupok. Cyclone winning the toss, decided to bat first where they put up 106 runs for 8 wickets from 30 overs with Preethson making an unbeaten 28 runs and Rahul Singh got 9 runs.

Thomson contributed 19 runs. PTCC bowler Karnajit claimed 3 wickets. In reply, PTCC reached the target in 21.1 overs for 7 wickets with Gunggung steadied the inning with an unbeaten 29 runs while Karnajit remained not out with 4 runs. Cyclone bowler Abinash bagged 3 wickets while Ronald and Suraj fetched 2 wickets each. PTCC player Karnajit was adjudged Man of the Match.

In the other match played at ABA Ground, Khetrigao, RCA Lilong beat AKSDO Khangabok by 43 runs.
RCA rode on Aqeel who hit 32 runs to pile up 127 runs for 8 wickets from 30 overs. Narsh Hussain got 24 runs and Imtiyas Khan scored 13 runs. AKSDO bowler Ch.Mocha claimed 3 wickets while S.Lanchenba and S.Kaiku picked up 2 wickets each. In reply, AKSDO were bundled out for 84 runs for 10 wickets from 22.4 overs with RCA bowler Naresh Hussian picking up 7 wickets for 9 runs from 5.4 overs. AKSDO batsman Ch.Mocha got 24 runs and Bishorjit Mangang scored 14 runs. RCA player Naresh Hussain claimed the Man of the Match for his 7 wickets and 24 runs.

Model Club posted 19 victories against Champ in Veteran Cricket

Model Club, Chingamakha pull off 19 runs win against Champ Khagempali in the 9th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2022 played at Oriental College & Model Higher Secondary School Ground. Model Club put up 183 runs for 4 wickets with Suresh Sharma hitting a majestic 94 runs from 54 balls while Santosh got 44 runs. Champ bowler Mujibur and Sajan fetched 1 wicket each. Chasing the target, Champ rested on Ratan who hit 63 runs and Alai who made an unbeaten 52 runs, but their quota of overa ran out leaving them to 164 runs for 5 wickets from 20 overs. Sanjot got 21 runs. Model bowler Bobin bagged 3 wickets while Tejkumar and Chaoba claimed 1 wickets. Model batsman Suresh Sharma got the Man of the Match for his 94 runs.
