Manipur, Sikkim continue to shine in First North East Women's Football

Manipur Sangais made a series of attacks against Mizoram Black Bears in the dying moments of the game which fetched good dividends, while Sikkim Pandas picked up 4-1 goals victory over Nagaland Wild Hogs.

Manipur Sangais repeated their winning feat beating Mizoram Black Bears by 2-0 goals in the 1st North East Women's Football Tournament 2022 played at SAI NERC Turf Ground at Takyelpat, Imphal West.

It was not an easy ride for the host team Manipur Sangais as they were tightly marked and given a good challenge by the Mizoram Black Bears, throughout the game, to render the first half goaless.

However, with its winning prestige at stake, Manipur Sangais calculated their moves and made a series of attacks in the dying moments of the game which fetched good dividends. With ten minute left in the game, N Priyanka started to perfect her strategies as she scored the first goal in 73 minute and repeated her feat in injury time of 80 plus 1 minute to push home the winning home for the victory today.

Mizoram Black Bears player B Vanlalhriattiri got a yellow card for dangerous play in the game.

In another match, Sikkim Pandas also continued their glorious form picking up 4-1 goals victory over Nagaland Wild Hogs, to collect full points.

Sikkim captured the moment of the first half with 2-1 goals with Luxmi Tamang making the opening goal in 20 minute and later Naocha consolidating in 39 minute. Nagaland Wild Hogs managed to retain some pride in the game with Mhasikhonuo getting her team's lone goal in 38 minute of play.

However Sikkim Pandas lost no time controlling the game in the second half with Lakophuti fetching the third goal in 53 minute and Pusparani banging home the winning goal in 79 minute for the win. Nagaland player Anjali got a yellow card in the match.
