Manipur MMA champions bring home gold and silver

Of the six MMA players from Manipur, three won gold medals and the national championship title while the remaining three bagged silver medals in the tournament that was held on March 25 and 26 at Navi Mumbai.

The six MMA players who represented Manipur in the recently concluded Warrior Dreams 4 Fight Night MMA Tournament were accorded a warm welcome at their arrival in Imphal Airport on Friday.

Of the six players, three of them bagged gold medals and the national championship title while the remaining three bagged silver medals in the tournament that was held on March 25 and 26 at Navi Mumbai.

The three players who bagged gold medals are Bidyaluxmi in the 42 kg weight category; Tonia in the 48 kg category and Sarju Lisham in the 48kg weight category. While Priyanka bagged silver in 52 kg weight category and Bambam Naorem in 52 kg weight category and Goroba Thoidingjam in 61 kg weight category.

Bambam Naorem who led the team while speaking to the media, highlighted their journey in the tournament and expressed gratitude to all those who had supported and guided them.
