Manipur girls’ heroic 9-0 goals victory over Goa went in vain as they crashed out of the Hero Sub Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2023-24 (Tier-1) being held at Amritsar in Punjab.

Instead, it was Jharkhand who made it to the semi-final from Group-A with a better aggregate of five goals from Manipur. Jharkhand and Manipur had 7 points each but they scored 27 goals against Manipur’s total of 22 goals in the league round.

Manipur, in their first match, had beaten Tamil Nadu by 14-1 goals and managed to hold Jharkhand by 3-3 goals to share a point in the second match and beat Goa today which proved not enough.
