Manipur CM extends greetings to all Indian sportspersons on National Sports Day 2022

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh extended best wishes to all Indian sportspersons and paid tributes to Indian hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand on Monday - National Sports Day 2022.

"On this #NationalSportsDay2022 and birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, my humble tributes to the legend of Hockey the country has ever had. My best wishes to all the sportspersons who have been working relentlessly to bring glory for the Nation," CM Biren tweeted Monday morning.

In an earlier tweet, the chief minister congratulated Team India for thier victory in Asia Cup 2022.

"Congratulations to #TeamIndia for the spectacular victory against Pakistan in #AsiaCup2022 match today," Biren tweeted.

Apart from the rest of the sportspersons from India, those from Manipur such as Mirabai Chanu and Shushila Devi Likmabam among several others have been making waves as they created history and brought laurels for the state as well as the counry with brilliant performances at national and internatuonal levels.

Recently, Linthoi Chanambam from Manipur scripted history by becoming the first-ever Indian to win gold at the Cadet World Championships 2022 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, across any age and gender.
