The runners-up of Nohjang Kipgen Memorial Sadar Hills 1st Division District Football League 2022, Twilang Area Sporting Association (TASA), Saikotjang Youth Club, and Angkailongdi Football Club won their first respective matches in the ongoing LS Trophy, 2022 at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi District Headquarters.
Opening its account in the mega football tournament, Twilang Area Sporting Association had a narrow 1-0 win over Haipi Youth Athletics to earn a full point in a group A encounter. Lalkhanlen shone brightly in TASA's win as he scored the winning goal for the team in the 10th minute.
In the group B encounter, Saikotjang Youth Club had an easy 3-0 win over Eimi Students' Fellowship. Kamsat Kipgen (24th), Lengouhao (33rd) and Lienmalsawmi (54th) scored for Saikotjang.
In the group C match, Angkailongdi Football Club from Senapati defeated Ninou Football Club from Kangpokpi 2-1.
K Isaac (5th) and Dhale (24th) scored for the Senapati side while Mangginhao (30th) scored for the Ninou side.
On Friday, South Changoubung Youth Club will clash with Kuki Football Academy in the first match while in the second match, TYPOM Maohing will play Kangpokpi Youth Union and in the third match, YOSC Khurai will play Satkhohen and Sumkhomang Memorial Team (SSMT).
