KSDO Kiyamgei posted 3 wickets win over PCC Mayaikoibi in the opening match of the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament 2021-22 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, Luwangsangbam.
PCC Mayaikoibi won the toss and decided to bat first where they lost some quick wickets but made a recovery by the middle order batsman to put up 188 runs for 9 wickets from 40 overs.
Huidrom Dhanashyam Meitei top scored with 43 runs while Vikas got 40 runs, L Gibson made 28 runs and Ch Ranjan got 25 runs. KSDO bowler Tarique Aziz claimed 3 wickets while Hamza got 2 wickets, Md.Abdul and Shajahan bagged 1 wickets each.
Chasing the target, KSDO batsman got a good start with Md Shamu making 36 runs while Nawaz Sharif got 30 runs to lay a solid foundation. Facing some hiccups in their innings but Hamza pulled off an electrifying knock of 71 runs while Md Raish Raza chip in with 15 runs to reach the target in 37 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.
PCC bowlers Ch Kenedy bagged 3 wickets while Ch Ranjan and Vikash claimed 2 wickets each. Later KSDO batsman Hamza was declared the Man of the Match for his 71 runs knock from 69 balls and 2 wickets haul.
There will be three matches on Friday featuring MAF and YWC team at Model & Oriental College Ground while SDC will play ESU Wangkhei at YWC Langthabal Ground and KCC to meet PSC at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground.
