KSC Kangpokpi thrashed NISA Thangmeiband by 3-1 goals in the 63rd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2021-22 organised by AMFA at Artificial Turf, Lamlomg Thongkhong.
The match got off to a slow start as KSC team had little knowledge of the former champion NISA’s potential strategy in the game and halfway through the match, KSC brushed aside it aloofness and gave a surprise when Ginkholen got the break the deadlock in 30th minute for the opening goal.
However, the very next moment, NISA collected their wits and in a quick move got the equaliser from Th Nilanjoy in the 31st minute to level the score line.
But KSC, who recently won Shaheed Manorajan CRPF Football Trophy) was far from over and H Robinson consolidated in the 41st minute for the lead. Making more ground, Ginminthang persistent effort paid off when he struck the winning goal in 45th minute for the victory as the latter half failed to produce any more goal.
Three KSC players Ginkholen, Neiminlal, Seigoumang and NISA players Lamjingba, P Anand got yellow cards from referee L Priyo.
In the other matches, DM Rao, Sekmai got the better of ASSA Sangaiyumpham by 4-3 goals.
The ASSA team were leading the first half by 3-1 goals but they provided too much room for DM Rao to come back for the victory.
DM Rao had no answer to ASSA onslaught as Md Aris Khan brought up the opening goal in the 1st minute of play and later Md Ajaz fetched the second goal in 11th minute of play to dominate the proceedings. ASSA got their third goal from a penalty with Md Ajaz making no mistake in converting the goal.
But before the first half whistle, L Bicky managed to slot home his team's first goal in 44rth minute to trail by 1-3 goals.
The second half proved much fruitful for DM Rao as they pushed through the ASSA defence to the limit with A Kinesh netting home the second goal in 58th minute and later, K Ibotomba came up with the equalising goal in 62nd minute. Digging further, DM Rao came up with the winning goal from A Kinesh in 64th minute.
Two DM Rao players A Kinesh and H Gungoon received yellow cards from N Ibungo for a reckless foul.
Classic FA beat AMOFA Moirang by 2-1 goals. AMOFA brought up the first goal from A Saroj in 7th minute for the lead but Classic player H Tomba fetched the equaliser in 27th minute. The winning goal came from Serto Worneilen Kom in the 64th minute of play. Two Classic FA players Tongmensei, Dettol and AMOFA player A Saroj got booked with yellow cards.
In tomorrow's matches, GSYC will face MCK at 10 am while YPHU Lalambung take on FC Lamjao at 12.15 pm and F4C meet Symropia Churchandpur at 2.15 pm.
