Kuki Soccer Club, Kangpokpi and Golngai FC will meet in the final of the state level Zomi Nam Ni Platinum Jubilee Cup 2023 on February 15 at the Lamka Public Ground after beating their respective opponents in the semi-finals.
On Saturday, Kuki Soccer Club, Kangpokpi defeated Football 4 Change, Kangpokpi with a scoreline of 2-1.
Friday’s semi-final between Kuki Football Club (Junior), Kangpokpi and Golngai FC was one of the most dull matches, the winner decided via a penalty.
As for the final, the winner will walk away with a cash price of Rs 3 lakh while the runner-up will pocket Rs 1 lakh.
The first half of Saturday’s semi-finals witnessed a blank as both sides failed to score but in the second half, jersey no. 27 of KSC opened their account which was short lived as Jersey no. 17 from F4C equalised in the 58th minute. The game was settled in the 75th minute when Jersey no. 17 from KSC scored that stood good till the 90th minute of regulation time.
KSC player, Solomon, was adjudged the man of the match and was awarded Rs 1000 by a contribution from Joy Enterprise, who are sponsoring the man of the match since the Quarter final.
