KIWT: Vengthah, Ngambom, Phungtin, Chengjapao win in football

Kholmun, Ahsijolneng, Dr GG Crozier, Ngambom win in volleyball

Defending champion Vengthah opened its account with an easy 5-3 win over Sipinthei Veng in the ongoing 18th Kangpokpi Inter Ward Tournament 2022 this Saturday morning at Brigadier M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi.

Ngamngaisang’s early goal in the 7th minute, Sehminthang's double in the 8th and 25th minutes, and Lamvangson's brace in the 14th and 18th minutes gave the defending champion side an easy win while the opponent team Sipinthei veng pulled back two goals through Paoginlal brace in the 15th and 39th minutes.

In women's volleyball, Kholmun veng defeated Japhal veng 3-1 (21-14, 16-21, 21-18, 21-11) in the first match while Ahsijolneng veng defeated Nanglhun veng in a similar 3-1 set (21-11, 21-13, 16-21, 21-16) in the second match.

In men's volleyball, Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound defeated Kholmun veng 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-24) in the first match while Ngambom veng defeated Lendou veng in a similar 3-0 set (25-14, 25-16, 25-24) in the second match.

In veteran football, Ngambom veng had an easy 4-0 win over Ahsijolneng veng as Seilet (3th, 8th), Laltinlen (5th), and Jemmang (34th) score for the winning side in the first match.

In the second match, Vengthah had a narrow 1-0 win over Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound as the winning side's skipper Thangcha scored the winning goal in the 10th minute.

In main football, Phungtin veng had an easy 5-0 win over Lamdil veng. Lunpithang (12th), Haosanglal (18th OG), Seiminlun (21st, 42nd) and Haolenmang (37th) score for the winning side.

In the second match, Chengjapao Veng narrowly edged past Kholmun veng 2-1. Seivanglen found the opening in the 21st minute which was equalized by Lalkhanlen of Kholmun in the 40th minute. However, the winning goal for Chengjapao veng came after Kamlenthang alias Kamlee in the 42nd minute.

There will be no match tomorrow being Sunday.
