A young shuttler from Kangpokpi District, Kim Kim Khongsai, who is considered the Saina Nehwal of Kangpokpi shone brightly in the recently concluded Manipur Hill Districts Badminton Championship, 2022 held at Senapati.
The young shuttler added more feathers to her cap by clinching three Gold Medals in different categories in the championship.
The young promising shuttler was part of the forty delegates of the Kangpokpi District Badminton Association in the championship.
The 11-year-old shuttler bagged Gold in the category of Under-15 Girls Single, Under-15 Girls Double, and Open Women Single.
Winning the Open Women's Single was a huge milestone for her career though undeterred by offbeat challengers sceptical of her mellowness.
Interestingly, the young girl's parents, Jangkholim Khongsai and Hoichong Khongsai, are also renowned shuttlers as well who are also part of delegates of Kangpokpi District Badminton Association in various Badminton championships.
Apart from Kim Kim Khongsai, her mother Hoichong Khongsai also clinched Gold Medals in 40+ Women's Single, and 40+ Women's Double in the said tournament while her father Jangkholim Khongsai bagged silver medal in 55+ Men's Double.
A student of St. Anthony School, Imphal, Kim Kim Khongsai has already achieved various medals at a very young age in Badminton at the state and district level and also had outside state exposure as well.
