Altogether 16 teams sailed through to the pre-quarterfinal round in the ongoing KFA's Open Night Football Tournament following the culmination of the last 32 matches on Saturday evening at D Phaihel village.
Interestingly, both winners of Friday evening matches were decided via tiebreak after a draw in the normal time.
The first match between MMT and Phat Chomkhat Sporting Club ended in a 1-1 draw as Thangginsang (45') scored for Phat Chomkhat SC and Chonlal (52') scored for MMT.
The tiebreak went in favour of Phat Chomkhat SC as it won the match 4-3 earning a spot in the pre-quarterfinal round.
Similarly, the second match between KFA Junior (A) team and Golngai Lom also ended in a 2-2 draw in normal time compelling the referee board to decide the winner via tie break.
Golngai Lom won the match 5-4 in the tiebreak and earned the last spot in the pre-quarterfinal round.
Thangmingou (26'), Lamgunlal (52') scored for KFA while Ajay Letminlen (34'), and Gabriel (67') scored for Golngai Lom during the normal time.
HLMT, KVMT, United Young Boys, VMT, Koubru Bakery FC, Cananphai Youth Club, South Changoubung Youth Club, HMT, SMT Haipi, TSMT Bungpi Area, LMT, JSYC, JSFT, TYPOM Moahing, Phat Chomkhat SC, and Golngai Lom were the last sixteen who made through to the pre-quarterfinal round.
Meanwhile, in women's volleyball, P Khothah II defeated Kholmun Veng, Kangpokpi in a straight two-set (25/19, 25/23) and made it through to the next round.
In men's volleyball, the Complex team defeated Golnop team in a straight two set (25/20, 25/19) in the first match, while in the second match, Lomgol defeated TAYA in a 2-1 set (25/18, 21/25, 25/20) and in the third match, James Team beat Gopibung team in a straight two set (25/16, 25/17).
