Hockey Union outplayed SYUC by 4-0 goals in the opening match of the 1st W Joy Singh Memorial State Level U-14 Boys and Girls Six a Side Hockey Tournament 2022 organised by Hockey Union at Lairiyengbam Leikai Ground, Imphal East.

The first quarter proved to be an evenly poised game as both teams did not spend extra energy for the goal. However, Hockey Union opens up in the second quarter with Y Leonat making the opening goal in the 14th minute.

The SYUC team pushed up the tempo but were unable to find the right strike. However, Hockey Union sweated it out with Y Tommy in the 27th minute W Indrew in 37th minute, consolidating the score. Y Tommy pushed home the winning goal in the 39th minute for the victory today.

In the other matches of the Boys categories, TWC (A) beat SCYC by 4-0 goals with P Ashidash and K Dhinaraj scoring two goals each. YCCIC also got the better of Thoubal beating them by 5-2 goals while TWC (B) thrashed SEYO Singjamei by 5-0 goals.

As for the Girls category, Hockey Union drubbed SCYC by 5-0 goals with Y Eshita Devi and N Kasni Devi fetching two goals each while W Kheroda scored one goal.
