Foundation to support youth willing to join sports as career

The Paamel foundation will be sending its volunteers to select those who are in need of support. Doors will be open for direct approach to the foundation by those seeking support, it said.

Paamel Foundation is ready to fully support any youth who are willing to go for sports as their profession, announced chairman and managing director of Babina Group of Companies Dr Dhabali Thangjam.

Dr Thangjam was speaking during the launching ceremony of the Paamel Foundation (a registered charitable organisation) held at the Classic Hotel in Imphal West on Saturday. The foundation is a non-profit organisation and will be fully funded and sponsored only by the Babina Group of Companies, he said.

The foundation will be sending its volunteers to select those who are in need of support. Moreover, doors will be open for direct approach to the foundation by those seeking support, he added.

The foundation’s vision is to plant hope among the marginalised people by ensuring their basic rights and enhancing their dignity of life through health, education, sports and economic development, said the chairman.

Improving the quality of life for the marginalised people, especially children by ensuring their basic rights and enhancing their dignity of life through health and education is the mission of the foundation, he said.

"Restoring childhood to children and sustainability to individuals and communities is our vision," he said.

Highlighting the brief history of the Babina Group in healthcare and hospitality industries, Dr Thangjam said some of its long cherished dreams of providing innovative solutions and support in the areas of health, education, sports and economic welfare will be achieved through the foundation.
