The second edition of (L) Damkhosiek Gangte (Gangte hero) memorial hills district Eimi Inter Village men's and women's ball tournament opening ceremony was kicked off by the MLA of Nungba assembly constituency and former deputy chief minister of Manipur Gaikhangam at Peace Ground Located at Tuibong ,Churachandpur in the morning on Monday.
In the volleyball tournament, 28 men’s teams from men and 12 women’s teams will vie for the trophy which will end with the final match on December 8 which was organised by the Demkhosiek Memorial Tournament Organising committee.
Prior to launching the tournament, former deputy CM of Manipur Gaikhangam in a function expressed his hope that the positive footsteps of the deceased leaders are followed by the people.
He expressed his hope that unity is promoted through the tournament. He further urged the players to maintain the spirit of games and try to have a focus on the national level as well as in the international arena.
