Blue Hawk Khurai started their season campaign on a winning note beating YUCC Kwakeithel Moirangpurel by 111 runs in the opening match of the 4th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2023-24 played at Model Hr Secondary School & Oriental College Ground.
Sent into bat first, Blue Hawk made a slow start but L Binson swung his bat to maximum effect scoring a well-made 56 runs off 81 balls while Waikhom Rex contributed 23 runs from 15 balls, to put up 166 runs for 10 wickets from 31.2 overs.
Joychand was the most successful YUCC bowler claiming 3 wickets while N Kennedy, L Bidyaswor took 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, YUCC batsman failed to deliver to the moment with L Bidyaswor top scoring with 12 runs and were all out for 55 runs in 14.1 overs. The pick among Blue Hawk bowlers was I Siddarth who bagged 3 wickets while E Nikhil got 2 wickets among the top wicket takers.
Blue Hawk batsman L Binson was adjudged as Man of the Match for his 56 runs knock.

In other matches played at other venues, AKSDO Khangabok beat YWC Langthabal by 2 wickets played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, Luwangsangbam.
YWC scored 126 runs for 10 wickets in 32.5 overs with Y Achouba hitting 41 runs. AKSDO bowlers Brightson, Achouba, Ziad Khan took 2 wickets each.
In reply, AKSDO managed to reach the target in 31 overs for the loss of 8 wickets with N Sanayai top scoring with 40 runs for the victory. YWC bowler L Nungsiba claimed 3 wickets. N Sanayai was declared Man of the Match for his 40 runs.
MPA Thounaojam also recorded a 160 runs win over Al-Ameen Lilong played at Dhobi Lampak Kongba Khunou, Imphal East.
MPA opening batsman made a good start with Rojit getting 22 runs while Chinglensana got 38 runs to put up 198 runs for 7 wickets from 35 overs. Al-Ameen bowler Aarish claimed 3 wickets.
Chasing the target, Al-Ameen batsman failed miserably as they could just score 38 runs all out from 9.1 overs. MPA bowler Naoboy bagged 6 wickets and claimed the Man of the Match title while Chinglensana took 4 wickets.
ESU Wangkhei pulled off a 5 wickets win against Shadow Thangmeiband played at Lairenjam Public Ground. In a low scoring match, Shadow made 63 runs for 10 wickets while in reply, ESU surpassed the target in 18.4 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. ESU bowler Naoba got the Man of the Match for his 6 wickets haul.
