Bidyasagar Salam grabs Men's Single title of State Open Badminton Championship

The 65th State Open Badminton Championship 2021 was organised by the Manipur Badminton Association at Indoor Hall, DM College Campus.

Bidyasagar Salam of Imphal West claimed the Champion title of Men's Single in the 65th State Open Badminton Championship 2021 organised by the Manipur Badminton Association at Indoor Hall, DM College Campus.

The final match proved to be a keenly contested game between Bidyasagar and Sirzeet Moirangthem of Imphal East, as both proved equally effective in their smashing and drop shot. However Bidyasagar got the edge as he took control in the end stage to claim it by 21-19 points.

As confidence grew for Bidyasagar, he minimised his mistake in the second set, to win it by 21-16 point for the champion title.

As for the Boys Single U-17 final match, H. Malemnganba Singh of BDBA overcame compatriot H. Rohenkumar Singh by 2-1 sets to grab the champion title with 17-21, 21-16 and 21-18 points.

The Boys Single U-15 final match saw Sushanta Moirangthem of Kakching beating Kasporov Ahanthem of Imphal West by 21-12 and 21-19 points to lay his hand on the champion title.

The Women Double title was claimed by N. Purnima of Kakching and Priya Konjengbam of BDBA while the Women Single title was claimed by Priya Konjengbam of BDBA.

The Boys Double U-17 category was won by H. Malemnganba and L. Brikson of BDBA.
