Arunachal Pradesh Tigers drubbed Assam Rhinos in 1st North East Women's Football Tournament

In the second match, Meghalaya Leopards hold on Tripura Pythons by 2-2 goals to share a point each.

Arunachal Pradesh Tigers blanked Assam Rhinos by 3-0 goals to garner full points in the 1st North East Women's Football Tournament played at Turf Ground, SAI NERC at Takyelpat, Imphal West.

The first half proved to be lackluster affairs as none of the teams could bring up a number in the scoreboard. However, Arunachal Pradesh Tigers gathered their wits and made a series of strikes with Kai Rumi fetching the opening goal in the 56th minute.

Minutes later, Kai Rumi repeated her feat with another goal in the 58th minute and Yumlam Lali struck the winning goal in the 59th minute for the convincing victory. AP Tigers players Lingdum Yaro, Tamchi Soram and Assam Rhinos player Pakhila Boro got yellow cards in the match.

In the second match, Meghalaya Leopards hold on Tripura Pythons by 2-2 goals to share a point each.

Meghalaya Leopards struck the opening blow from Iawanglang in the 24th and Nishila Majaw in the 61st minute of play and looked set to run away with a win.

However, Tripura Pythons rallied back strongly in the match with Sakchantireang in the 57th and Dhanita Reang in the 76th minute goals drew parity, to share a point each. Meghalaya player Aibaplilad got booked with a yellow card in the match.
