Al-Ameen record 1 run victory over Champ Khagempalli

In a nail biting finish, Al-Ameen, Lilong beat Champ Khagempalli by 1 runs in the 6th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2021-22 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Imphal East.

Taking no chances, Al-Ameen opted to bat first after winning the toss where opener Md Basir Rahaman provided a good start, hitting 46 runs from 66 balls while Md Mustaque made 31 runs from 59 balls. But the real solid knock came from Md Al Bashid who hammered 56 runs from 62 balls to post 192 runs for 6 wickets from 40 overs. Md Safwan contributed 19 runs.

Champ bowler Nitish Sedai was the most successful one claiming 3 wickets for 37 runs from 8 overs while M Thomas, Th Nicolson and Md Sultan fetched 1 wickets each.

Chasing the target, Champ Khagempalli opening batsman put up 53 runs partnership with Ch Bonny making 21 runs while P Athouba got 32 runs. However once they departed, the burden fell on Nitesh Sedai who made 23 runs.

But as wickets tumbled cheaply at the other end, middle order batsman Md Sultan Karim stood his ground, hitting 69 runs from 55 balls but ran out of partners at the end, to miss the winning target by one run as they replied 191 runs for 10 wickets from 40 overs.

Al-Ameen bowlers Md Noushad Ali and Najarul Islam bagged 3 wickets each while Md Nasirshah and Habibullah Ahammed pick up 1 wickets each. Later Md Noushad Ali was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his 3 wickets haul and unbeaten 5 runs.
