Samurou Polo Club got the better of Khurai Polo Club by 4-3 goals through golden goal to make it to the last 16 stages of the 37th Men's State Level Polo Tournament 2022 organised by All Manipur Polo Association at Iroisemba Kangjeibung, Imphal West.

Samurou Polo Club makes their impact quite early in the game with K Pandit fetching the opening goal in the first chukker for the lead. Samurou riders continued to dazzle in the second chukker when A Alex jumped the defence barriers, to slot home two goals to send a strong message to its opponent.

However, Khurai Polo Club, a reputed polo team, makes a surge in the second chukker and it was A Bijeshor who smashed home the opening goal. Making more spirited gallops in the third chukker, Khurai riders E Romesh struck from the blue to register their second goal and later Th Premkumar came up with the equaliser to level 3-3 goals.

As the fourth chukker failed to yield any goal, the game was extended to the fifth chukker for the golden goal where Samurou Polo Club had the last laugh when K. Pandit struck home the winning goal, enroute to the pre-quarter final.

In the other match, CRPF Polo Team outplayed Arvind Polo Club(B) by 7-2 goals, to book their pre-quarter final berth. For the CRPF team, A. Shyamananda scored three goals while Y. Dijen and W. Dhiren fetched two goals each.

S Ranjan and S Robert scored a goal each for Arvind Polo Club but not enough to save them from elimination.
