Modi Cultural and Sporting Club (MCSC) will be organising the 2nd Modi Cup from February 7 at Modi village in Chandel district. The cup is being organised in collaboration with 21 Assam Rifles Modi Battalion.
The event will consist of 9-a-side football for men and volleyball for both men and women.
To be purely an inter-village tournament, the football event carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a rolling cup for the winners and Rs 30,000 and a cup for the runner-up on a registration fee of Rs 4,000 per club. There will be individual prizes for Golden Boot, Golden Ball and Golden Glove.
For volleyball, the winners will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a rolling cup while the runners-up will take home Rs 15,000 and a cup. As for individual prizes, Best Setter and Best Spiker will be awarded.
