Kuki Sporting Club (KSC), Kangpokpi put up a remarkable victory beating United Brother's Football Club (UBFC), Ukhrul by 2-0 goals to lift the Champion title of the 25th Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial Winners' Cup 2021-22, which is sponsored by Babina Healthcare and Hospitality Pvt Ltd, played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

Both teams adopted a matured approach to the game, to minimise risking injury in the first half play. The UBFC team had their chances to take the lead in the game but wasted the opportunity shooting wide on both occasions.

However, the KSC team, relying on short and accurate passes, moved on and finally got the breakthrough just before the first half whistle when Seineo anticipated a cross from the left to unleash a powerful shot from the goalmouth in the 45 minute to enjoy the lead.

The UBFC did have possession of the ball but had to curse their luck as KSC put up a stiff defense to deny them closer to the goalmouth. KSC made further forays in the 77 minute of play after Robinson, getting a short pass from Seigoumang Doungel, pushed home a grounder for the winning goal.

KSC players Nehminlal Haokip and Seigoumang got yellow cards from referee Kh Ranjit for reckless foul.

Kuki Sporting Club, Kangpokpi pocketed Rs 50,000 along with the champion trophy while UBFC Ukhrul had to contend with Rs 30,000 with runners up trophy. Babina Healthcare and Hospitality Pvt. Ltd, managing director Dr Th Dhabali Singh distributed the prizes to the team along with AMFA officials.
