1st North East Women's Football Tournament: Sikkim Pandas top league round with 13 points

Arunachal Pradesh Tigers will face Nagaland Wild Hogs in the first match while Tripura Pythons will meet Manipur Sangais in the second match on Friday.

Sikkim Pandas got the better of Meghalaya Leopards by a solitary goal win in the 1st North East Women's Football Tournament, 2022 played at SAI NERC Turf Ground at Takyelpat, Imphal West.

With the victory, Sikkim Pandas enjoyed the top spot, collecting 13 points from four wins and one drawn games among the eight teams. Meghalaya Leopards are currently placed in the bottom table with 4 points from a win, one drawn and two lost games.

The lone goal for Sikkim Pandas in the match against Meghalaya Leopards was scored by Naocha in 40 plus 2nd minute of first half play.

In another match, Pakhila Boro hattrick guided Assam Rhinos with 3-0 goals victory over Mizoram Black Bears, to garner full points.  

The match was not an easy outing for the teams, particularly in the second half as Mizoram Black Bears was ever on the lookout for the equaliser but Assam Rhinos, held tight their defence to prevail with the convincing win.  For Assam Rhinos, Pakhila Boro struck the opening goal in the 36th minute of first half and she went on to add two more goals in the 75th and the 77th minute to register her hattrick goals.

Mizoram Black Bears players Vanlalriattiri, Lalruatfeli and Assam Rhinos players Bornali Moron and Joshima got yellow cards in the match for dangerous play.

In Friday’s matches, Arunachal Pradesh Tigers will face Nagaland Wild Hogs in the first match while Tripura Pythons will meet Manipur Sangais in the second match.
