Arunachal Pradesh Tigers enjoyed an opening win of 2-0 goals over Tripura Pythons in the 1st North East Women's Football Tournament which got underway at Turf Ground, SAI NERC at Takyelpat, Imphal West.

The hot sunshine failed to deter both the Arunachali and the Tripura girls as they relentlessly pursued for the goal but failed to break the deadlock, rendering the first half goalless. However, the game changer began to unfold in the second half when Kai Rumi surprised its opponent with the opening goal in the 57th minute.

Later in the 62nd minute, Kai Rumi makes another move to slithers home the winning goal for the victory on Thursday.

In the second match, Meghalaya Leopards thrashed Assam Rhinos by 6-1 goals to collect full points. In a one sided match, Nisilia scored three goals for her hattrick while Sunalinda made two goals and Jawan Lang chip in with a goal for Meghalaya.

The lone goal for Assam Rhinos was made by Darathiuria in the first half.

In tomorrow's matches, Assam Rhinos will take on Tripura Pythons at 12.30 pm while Meghalaya Leopards will face Arunachal Pradesh Tigers at 3 pm.
