Exhibition spreads awareness on importance of Science Education

A science exhibition cum interactive programme was held on the topic ‘Awareness on Importance of Science Education in Tribal and Schedule Caste populated schools In Kakching and Chandel District, Manipur’.

The Centre for Rural Empowerment and Development Organization (CREDO) has organised a science exhibition cum interactive programme on the topic ‘Awareness on Importance of Science Education in Tribal and Schedule Caste populated schools In Kakching and Chandel District, Manipur’.

The event was organised under the sponsorship of NCSTC Division, department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, the Auditorium of Library and Information Center, Kakching on March 15 and 16 and Springdale School Thoma Memorial Hall, Komlathabi, Chandel on March 18 and 19, a release stated.

Programme was inaugurated by lieutenant general Konsam Himalay Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), former chairman, Manipur Public Service Commission and president, K Jadu Singh, social worker as chief guest, Kh Ibohal Singh, associate professor HoD, department of Entomology, CAU, Imphal and Joykumar Singh, secretary, Library and Information centre, Kakching as guests of Honours, it stated.

It stated that learning opportunities to more than 600 students of kakching and chandel district with various activities like science exhibition and demonstration, Mathematics puzzle, Mathematics Talent hunt, on spot painting competition, Quiz competition, essay competition and Ex- tempo speech were organised. There were also sessions on interactive programmes, open discussion and science film show, it added.

The organising committee also distributed prizes to winners and encouraged the talent of the students, it stated. MLA Kakching assembly constituency M Rameshwor Singh visited a science exhibition and encouraged the works of the students, it added.
