KRA leader, N. Lunkhomang Hangshing no more
Works and projects director, Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), N. Lunkhomang Hangshing alias LH Figo died at around 11:00 pm at District Hospital Kangpokpi following a sudden cardiac arrest.
During his funeral ceremony, pastor of KBC Centre Church, Kangpokpi, reverend, Lamkeng Lhouvum quoted the ‘three ultimate wishes of Alexander the Great on his bed console’ motivating the large number of mourners.
According to his life account distributed during the funeral service, N. Lunkhomang Hangshing was born on September 27, 1964 at Hengbung village in Kangpokpi District as the eldest son of (Late) Singkhokam Hangshing, and got married to Lamminnei Hangshing who died in last year owing to cancer. He is survived by six children.
Lunkhomang Hangshing was a born nationalist. He was living a life of sincerity and his personality includes like-mindedness, kind-heartedness and love social life apart from being born nationalist and before joining the revolutionary movement in the name of KRA. And he served as the President of Hengbung Youth Club for several years and also served as a Mission Secretary at KBC Centre Church Kangpokpi during 2005 -2006 after he settled at Kangpokpi from Hengbung village, it said
His nationalism minded has ultimately compelled him to join the Kuki Revolutionary Army, an entity of the Tripartite Talks with the state and centre Government and served the Kuki society as works and projects Director till he breath his last yesterday night, it said while also adding that he was also a trustee manager of FC Khanglai Football Club being a sports lover and also an established Kamgunsang Sound System being a music lover as well.
Home secretary, KRA, Jeremy Khongsai said that N. Lunkhomang Hangshing twirl violence incidents into peace on several occasion after joining the revolutionary movement apart from fight for the cause of the Kuki political solution which tells a lot about his sociable attitude for which he earned much love and respect not only in the organization but also amongst the people.
“As mark of respect and tribute to the departed leader condolence was held at the general headquarters at KRA designated Gamnom camp and in all units of the organisation including Assam today and a tradition shawl was wrapped over his lifeless body to pay last tribute to the deceased leader,”
Kuki Inpi Manipur, Kuki Students’ Organization (KSO) and various SoO groups including KNO/KNA, UPF/KNF, Kuki politicians, bureaucrats, intellectuals, GUDUPs, friends, relatives along with various other community leaders also joined the funeral ceremony and spoke on the occasion as well.
N. Lunkhomang Hangshing was finally put to rest according to Christian doctrines, and buried at Kangpokpi cemetery at around 3:30 pm by reverend, Lamkeng Lhouvum.
Meanwhile, condolences from various organisations including SoO groups have flooded social media since last evening.
