Kuki bodies condemn Moreh killingKANGPOKPI | Jul 14
Several civil bodies particularly the Kuki CSOs vehemently condemned the killing of town commander of United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) at Moreh yesterday.
The Kuki Inpi Manipur strongly condemned the continuous killings among the Kuki communities prevailing in the state these days and recent brutal killing of John Gangte at Ngamkhai veng in border Town Moreh yesterday.
It appealed to all the people of the Kuki communities and leaders of various organisations to shun such violence once and for all in the larger interest of peace and harmony in the society.
The Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Chandel district also expressed deep concern over the high level belligerence of ‘killing at will’ situation prevailing in border town Moreh and condemned the brutal killing of John Gangte in the strongest.
It said that it is lamentable that the deliberate murder of a person is gravely contrary to the dignity of the human being and to the holiness of the Creator.
It also said that while KSO Chandel keeping faith in the present government, calls for justice in the killing of John Gangte and urged the law enforcing agency to arrest and booked the perpetrators of the crime.
The student body also urged any individual, group or person involved in the crime to identify themselves publicly and give reason on what ground of unforgivable crime such barbaric action could be taken.
It further appeals the concerned authority for timely intervention and immediate action to avoid further escalation of tension and bloodshed in border town Moreh in the best interest of the people.
The United People’s Front (UPF), one of the conglomerate organisation of the Kuki Revolutionary group where in the UKLF is also a member condemned the killing of John Gangte, Town Commander of Moreh town in the strongest term.
The condemnation statement signed by Thanglenlal Doungel, Information & Publicity Secretary of UPF stated that the organisation is shocked to learn of the gruesome and cold murder of John Gangte, UKLF at Ngamkhai Veng Moreh and extends its sympathy and sincere condolence to the bereaved family and camaraderie to UKLF at the untimely loss.
While vehemently condemning the brutal manslaughter, the UPF demands a swift proclamation from the perpetrators stating that this cowardly act is pointless at a juncture when peace is pursued at all levels.
It also appealed to the Government to treat the matter as most serious and speedily book those responsible in the brutal murdered of John Gangte.
