ADC Sadar Hills Member S. Kipgen passes away, many offer condolences
Member of Autonomous District Council Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi Seikhosat Kipgen passed away at the age of 55 due to prolong illness on July 6 at his Selsi residence. He was survived by his wife Nengjahoi Kipgen and eight children.
The deceased ADC Sadar Hills member was the eldest son of (L) Henkholal Kipgen and Phalsi Kipgen of Selsi village in Twilang area under Kangpokpi district. He was elected twice as a member of ADC Sadar Hills from 4-Tujang Waichong District Council Constituency since 2011.
He was also elected as an executive member in the District Council Administration, ADC Sadar Hills and hold various post including Town Affairs of Kangpokpi in the previous term. He worked for the welfare of all community while in office.
His funeral service was held yesterday at Selsi village amidst thousands of friends, relatives and near and dear ones who bid adieu with their last tribute to the departed member. ADC Sadar Hills spokesperson, Thangkam Lupheng said that a team of ADC Sadar Hills members and executive members led by chairman, ADC Sadar Hills Haokholal Hangshing attended the funeral service of the deceased member.
The chairman in his condolence message during the solemn funeral service credited the deceased member as a man of sincerity, honesty and integrity while adding that a minute silence was observed in honour of the deceased member along with thousands of mourners.
As a mark of bidding adieu, Thangkham wrapped a traditional shawl over his coffin followed by all other members and executive members while offering a garland of flowers to show their love and respect.
Meanwhile, Kuki Students’ Organisation Sadar Hills and Tujang Waichong Block also expressed condolence over the sudden demise of the ADC Sadar Hills member and shared the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family.
It said that the student body is saddened to hear the untimely demise of Seikhosat who dedicated his entire life towards strengthening the people of his constituency and in the service of all communities and the Kuki community in particular.
“His untimely demise is a great loss not only to the family, but also for the communities and KSO in particular, it added while conveying deepest condolence to the bereaved family at this hour of grief.
Social media has also been flooded with condolence message from all sections since he expired in the afternoon of July 6.
