Drug smuggler arrested

A combined team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), Imphal and 12 AR personnel arrested a drug smuggler from PVCP Khudengthabi, during a frisking and checking operation on July 6, claimed a release from Police (PRO).
The arrested individual has been identified as Sushila, 61, wife of Selvam of Chennai, Tamil Nadu; and, 20 kg of crystal substances suspected to be Methamphetamines (Ice) were recovered from her possession, it said.
A case has been registered against her at NAB-PS and investigations have already begun.
The release also mentioned that a team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), Imphal arrested two persons namely: (i) Kikim Haokip, 50, wife of Heliry Haokip; and (ii) Hevah Haokip, 49, wife of Henthang Haokip of Pangmol village, Saparmeina- Kangpokpi, from Nachou Lamkhai- Bishnupur along with 13 kgs of opium from their possession on July 6.
A case has been registered against both of them NAB-Imphal PS and investigations have already begun, it added.
Meanwhile on July 5, a team of Thoubal district commandos detained a person namely, Khundrakpam Syamkanhai, 44, son of (late) Kh Angou Singh of Khangabok Khunou, Cherapur Part-III, along with 950 grams of tobacco products during a frisking and checking operation at Moirangpalli.
Khundrakpam Syamkanhai along with the tobacco products have been handed to Thoubal PS for further legal actions, it said.
The release also mentioned that on July 5, a team of Thoubal district commandos arrested three youths along with 16 strips of N-10 tablets during a frisking and checking operation at Chingjao near Moijing.
The arrested individuals have been identified as: (i) Md. Warish, 24, son of Md. Rahim of Lilong Turel Ahanbi Mathak; (ii) Md. Amzad, 25, son of (late) Md. Tomba of Lilong Turel Ahanbi Mathak; and (iii) Abdul Sahid, 30, son of Md. Abdul Rahim of Lilong Turel Ahanbi Mathak.
A case has been registered at Thoubal-PS and investigations have already begun.
The release further added that District police, Heirok arrested a person named Khundrongbam Rustom Singh, 21, son of Samananda along with 3.5 grams of suspected Heroin powder from possession, during a frisking a checking operation conducted at Heirok Champra Thong on July 5.
A case has been registered at Heirok-PS and investigations have already begun, it added.
