CorCom sends message on its 8th Birth Anniversary
IMPHAL | Jul 8
On the arrival of its 8th Birth Anniversary which falls on July 8, the proscribed umbrella organisation CorCom said the organisation pays its revolutionary homage to the brave leaders who gave their lives in the self determination movement of Manipur.
A release signed by convenor, coordination committee, Chaoren stated that the organisation honours those who are standing in support of the movement, and shares their grief in bearing the brunt of the oppression meted out by the enemies. Today, on the 8th Birth Anniversary of CorCom, the organisation sends its highest respects and well wishes to the insurgent groups of Manipur and ‘Western South East Asia (WESEA),’ and the people of the region, it said.
At this critical juncture, it is imperative that the indigenous people put all efforts to stop the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) from being passed, it stated. Other programmes such as the construction of Trans-Asian Highway/Asian Highway 1 (TAH-AH1), International Trade Centre (ITC) and introduction of Special Economic Zones (SEZ) to implement Indo-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (IAFTA) will definitely the integrity of the indigenous people, it added.
The geographical points which will be known as SEZ are going to be the lifeline of Free Trade Area (FTA). Though these spots fall under Manipur, they will be considered as a foreign territory from the viewpoint of trade and commerce, it said. The activities of the workers and employees who are foreign and Indian nationals will not be under the jurisdiction of India or Manipur, it maintained. They will be operated under a separate trade law which are both private and international, it added.
When the FTA workers starts interbreeding with the local indigenous people, the newly created population will follow international laws, it stated. If the newly created population begins to spread, then it will pose a threat to the culture, tradition and language of the indigenous people, it said.
On the other hand, the recent election turned out to be a huge festival and the youths were intoxicated by it, it further said. The poor people who are struggling for a daily life were lured into the game of election by those in power, it added. At a place where Anti-AFSPA and self-determination movements are being actively upheld, the imposition of codes of conduct for an undemocratic election weakened the public sphere and suppressed public opinions, it alleged.
Those political parties and their representatives do not possess the quality to address the core issues of this region, the reason being that they are all enslaved by the Indian Constitution, it stated.
The people are working as mercenaries for their own gains, it alleged. Elections have dehumanised the Manipuri society it further said adding these practices must be stopped. The ‘WESEA’ region now has become a place of conflict to the eyes of world, it added. It has become a place filled with so many groups which are waging a war against India, it stated.
Further it said, considering the present scenario, the people of ‘WESEA’ would be able to create a common destiny if they resolve to unite and fight together. It is of utmost necessity for the indigenous people of Manipur to stay away from the divisive policies of Indian government, it said.
To recognise the common enemy that has been scheming to annihilate the natives of this region, taking up a united movement towards self determinations is the sole means for survival, it added.
