KNO condemns NSCN-IM on killing of Arunachal MLA
IMPHAL | May 21
Kuki National Organisation (KNO), government Of Zale’n-Gam alleging the NSCN-IM for killing an MLA of Arunachal Pradesh, Tirong Aboh, has expressed vehement condemnations against the incident.
A release signed by president, Kuki National Organisation, PS Haokip stated that true to its modus operandi, the National Socialist Council of Nagaland – Isak and Muivah, bereft of any democratic streak or Christian spirit have once again shown their true colour
The KNO condemns without reservation the cold blooded murder of the sitting MLA from Arunachal Pradesh’s Khonsa West assembly constituency, Tirong Aboh. He was shot dead by the NSCN-IM insurgents in the Bogapani area of Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on May 21, it alleged. Six others were also killed in the ambush laid by the NSCN (IM), it said.
Clearly, such dastardly action unequivocally reveals NSCN (IM)’s utter desperation, fuelled by fabrication and greed (unfathomable political objective) and Nazi-like disposition, which blatantly contradicts their slogan ‘Nagaland for Christ,’ it added.
Further it said, the responsibility for this cowardice act of cold-blooded murder, and unnecessary death rests squarely with the group who had committed this horrendous crime.
The onus now falls upon the Government of India, to shows its commitment by working with the state government of Arunachal Pradesh, and international partners to pursue those responsible for this heinous act, it added.
It continued, the unfortunate incident raises pertinent questions, for every right thinking citizen to ponder over such as why did not the Government of India provided adequate security cover for Tirong Aboh, knowing that he is being targeted by the NSCN-IM. The NSCN-IM had been committing with impunity one act of violence after the other in region, it further said questioning does the framework agreement signed between GOI and; NSCN-IM, empowers the latter to shoot, maim or kill anyone when and where it chooses.
The release further questioned why the GOI has not taken a resolute action against the organisation hitherto, adding “Is this the “Greater Nagaland” - to do away with anyone, who doesn’t share your world view?”
The NSCN-IM has no respect or regards for human life, and the principle of peaceful co-existence, it alleged adding KNO laments the fact that such a promising life had been cut tragically short by this senseless act of violence.
This incident, had only highlighted the glaring fact that security is still precarious in areas of the North Eastern Region where the NSCN-IM operates, it said.
The people of Arunachal are said to be descendants of Manasseh, one of Israel’s ten lost tribes, it further said adding in view of their origins, a troupe participated at the ‘Celebration of Brotherhood’ in CHAVANG KUT 2014 and 2015 at Peace Ground, Tuibong, Churachandpur, Manipur along with the Kuki people and numerous other Manasseh brethren. It is a shame that NSCN (IM), which now touts ‘NSCN (IM) For Israel’ should engage in such contradictory activity, it added.
KNO strongly urges Government of India to reconsider their ‘ceasefire’ with NSCN (IM) and completely annihilate the organisation it once already declared ‘Terrorists,’ it said.
KNO mourns the loss of their Manasseh brethren and extends deep-felt condolences to the bereaved family members of Tirong Aboh, the MLA and others whom NSCN (IM) ambushed and killed in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, it stated. KNO prays to let their souls rest in peace, it added.
