Congress, BJP making a business out of State: Samarjit
“BJP, Congress and Communist parties have made a business out of the State,” alleged president, Central working committee, NEIDP, N. Samarjit today.
He was speaking at a one-day political awareness programme held on the theme “Together for Change” at Hiyangthang Maning Leikai community hall.
He further said NEIDP was formed with the humble intention to wipe the tears running down from the eyes of the mothers in the State. It has been working relentlessly to revive the age old tradition and culture which were practiced before, he said. The time has arrived for the people to question themselves how the wealth which had been passed down by the ancestors fell into the hands of non-locals and outsiders, he stated.
He further said it would be wrong to remain as a silent witness when the people clearly know that resources of the State are being used by non-locals. NEIDP had been striving for the mother land, and ready to make sacrifices to revive the old cultures and save this region, he added.
Now is the time to stop bringing the State further down into degeneration by the dirty politics run by outsiders, he said. It would not be possible for the national parties which are run by outsiders, to work for the betterment of this State, he maintained.
He further said they will always discriminate the people of northeast and make them dependent in many fields. Traps are continuously being laid eradicate the indigenous people of this region, he continued. These actions must be given an apt reply, he added.
Meanwhile, a one-day political convention in regards to the 17th Lok Sabha Election was organised by NEIPD at Lainingthou Pangalba Community Hall under Khundrakpam assembly constituency today.
NEIDP candidate, RK Anand said this election will be of utmost importance to the people of Manipur. The people can no longer bear their existence like a slave, for the past more than 60 years under the rule of National parties, he said. Therefore, NEIDP was birthed to raise the voice of the people at the Centre, he added.
Due to decades of backwardness suffered in many fields of development under the rule of national parties, the party took its birth like a fiery volcano, with the resolution of the people to bring development in every nook and corner of the State, he said.
For the past many years, the people of the hills and valley have been kept divided by the national parties, he said. As for now, the NDA government which is a national party, has been making attempts to annihilate the indigenous people of the Northeast by trying to implement CAB, he stated. Therefore, NEIDP now firmly stands to give an apt answer to the NDA which has been hell bent on implementing CAB against the wishes of the people, he added.
“The public must understand that national parties are never going to work for this region, and it is appealed to the people to extend their support to NEIDP which is trying to revive the State,” he added.
