People have entrusted power to BJP as they are fed up with Cong’IMPHAL | Apr 11
People are fed up of Congress rule and their monopoly, which only served the interest of the rich in its 15 years of tenure. That is why the people of Manipur have handed the govt to BJP for a change.
This was stated by former Congress minister, Kh Loken, who is now the member of the media sub-committee of BJP. He was speaking to the media at a press conference held today at the BJP Nityapat Chuthek office.
He said, the people have come to realise the failure in governance and economy mismanagement of the Congress led government, and now the power is bestowed to BJP. He went on to claim that the manifesto of the BJP is a well thought out one. It includes provisions like uplift in health and education sector, and empowerment to the youth, he pointed out.
In comparison with the election manifestos of other political parties, BJP’s election manifesto is deemed fit to bring development in all sectors, he continued, adding the rest of the manifestoes have failed to address the issue of poverty.
Further the former minister said, BJP has already paved way to give benefits to poor people and bring unity among the communities. While referring to other party’s election manifestos, he said, it is noticeable that many things have been written without keeping a larger vision in mind. However, BJP’s manifesto has assurance to benefits people of all sections, he added.
A special programme for the Northeastern region has also been included for development of economic and social conditions, which shows that the BJP manifesto has clear vision with liberal outlook, he added.
Convener, BJP state media sub-committee, Jotin Waikhom, said BJP is always ready to debate on CAB, and hence it has accepted the challenge thrown by the North East India Development Party (NEIDP). Many political leaders have challenged BJP for a debate on the Bill, but they should know that CAB was not reintroduced by BJP, after all it was originally introduced by the Indian National Congress in 1955, he said.
Jotin continued, BJP has only made changes on CAB which was introduced by INC. Therefore, the debate should be held only after bringing out the truth of Congress’s stand on giving asylum to the Indian origin foreign citizen in 1955, and their U-turn in 2019, he added.
The chief minister has given assurance for protection of indigenous people of the state and NRC will be implement to identify the illegal immigrants from the State, he said. After BJP came to power in 2014, people have seen the changes BJP has brought to the State, he said.
