NEIDP may boycott upcoming election in protest against CAB

“Manipur does not exist under India, one should not conceive such ideas. India government and Manipur go together in a parallel Manner. India being ‘De Facto,’ the state of Manipur exists ‘de jure’. If both the factors cannot go together, NEIDP shall boycott the forthcoming election, against CAB.”
President, NEIDP, N. Samarjit made the statement at the 11th foundation day of Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF), Manipur held today at Manipur Press Club. While informing that election for ‘de jure’ will be organised, he stated, “We shall see who can stop it.”
He further said that the Bill which had been passed on Lok Sabha will be further passed at Rajya Sabha. The ongoing dispute is on the two clauses which had been added to the bill, he added.
Concerning these two clauses, the term sovereignty under the Indian constitution has been further classified into internal and external sovereignty, he informed. The two clauses which exist in the bill fall under external sovereignty and it is handled by external affairs, he further informed adding the State government must show disapproval considering the sentiments of the public.
He further alleged that the opposition party is being two faced with their statements. Opposition is not made of one single party, they come under the same constitution, he stated. Congress and BJP do not exist as two separate entities out of the system, this is why the ruling government has been called the BJP led government, he stated. One should know the difference between the government and State, he added.
While questioning why the Congress staged a walk out as it is akin to breaking the law, he stated that the opposition doing such a thing when a bill is introduced at the house is a violation of law and they should be put into jail, not only the State leaders but the members of the opposition who staged the walk out, he added.
To construct the office of PAWF, he stated that both the land and office will be provided. It is considered that the Directorate of Language Planning and Implementation formerly known as Language Cell is no longer functional. This is caused due to shortage of a common platform for writers in Manipur, he said. Salai will be creating an E-Dictionary soon and efforts will be given to establish the language.
On the occasion, a book titled, ‘Amuba Eegi khoongul’ was published. May writers were also felicitated.
President, PAWF, Yaiskul Khwiarakpam; advisor, Salai Holdings Pvt. Ltd, Dr. Th. Chandramani; advisor Salai Holding pvt. Ltd., Dr. Th. Brojen, NEIDP vice president, Sapam Kunjakeshor alias Keba; Imphal college principal, Dr. M. Priyobrata, took part on the occasion.
In the meantime, a team led by N. Samarjit took part in the 57th foundation day of Yengkhom Leirak Development Club at Koutruk Khul, Imphal west and took inspection of the village.
