Rs 90 crore approved for Tamenglong and Noney district
A review meeting on Hill Area Development Programme was held here at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office, Tamenglong.
The meeting was chaired by Ministry of DoNER Government of India, secertary, Naveen Verma, IAS with chief secretary, government of Manipur, Dr. J. Suresh Babu IAS, in the presence of deputy commissioner Tamenglong Ravindar Singh and deputy commissioner, Noney Hungyo Worshang, IAS along with district level officers Tamenglong attended the review meeting.
At least 90 crores were approved under Hill Area Development Programme on various departments in both Tamenglong and Noney district.
Under Horticulture and Agriculture sectors, construction of Pack houses with villages clusters, setting up small food processing unit at sub- divisional headquarters, setting up tea processing unit at district headquarter and setting up bamboo processing unit at district headquarter.
Water supply projects were also approved for Tamei sub- divisional under PHED.
Under Health sector, equipment for district hospital Tamenglong will be purchased so that operation can be done at district headquarter, telemedicine facility will be set up to enable video conference from PHCs level to district headquarter and from district headquarter to Imphal.
Under agriculture road connectivity, the DoNER Ministry has approved for construction 11 suspension bridges in Tamenglong district.
Under eduction sector, setting up of Model Computer Labs, smart classes, Teachers’ training and skills upgradation, ITI (replacement of obsolete equipment, water reservoir etc.) were approved in the meeting.
The review meeting also approved for construction of on convention centre for Tamenglong, working hostel at district headquarter and at sub- divisional headquarter.
The meeting also approved for eco- tourism project at Tharon caves and at Zeilad lake. All the development project would be started within this year.
