CM will not be able to convince President of India regarding Manipur people’s bill: Lokeshwar
“How can the chief minister convince the President of India regarding citizenship amendment bill. He even failed to handle Adya Prasad Pandey.”
MLA, Th. Lokeshwar Singh stated today during the closing ceremony of free special revision coaching class for class X held today at community hall, Sagolmang, Imphal East district.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokeshwar said passing of the citizenship amendment bill, 2016 in Lok Sabha is a sign of total humiliation to the northeastern people. If the bill is turned into an act, it will give a huge impact to the State. And the chief minister will not be able to propose any opposition to the bill at the centre, he added.
He further said the free coaching camp will give motivation towards the students who will be appearing in the up-coming HSLC examination, 2019. Most of the students in the area from a poor back ground and due to lack of finance most of the students failed to appear in the examination though they are willing, he added.
In order to reduce such grievances, the free coaching is being organised by DESAM under the sponsorship of Thokchom Navakumar memorial trust (NMT) Sagolmang.
He further said political parties, civil bodies and others need to be united in order to face the issue of citizenship amendment bill, 2016. By implementing the bill in the country BJP is trying to fulfil the slogan “one nation, one Hindu,” he claimed.
President of DESAM, Salam Akash as guest of honour at the function said the state government is giving many benefits to the government schools but they are not focusing on how to educate the students. Due to the reason government schools are still lagging behind as compare with private schools.
Schemes like mid-day meal, free education, uniforms are being issued to the government schools but most of the local MLAs are ignoring to give priority to develop education sectors unlike local MLA of Khundrakpam, he asserted.
He said though Manipur people’s protection bill is passed in the House, it will be taken over by Citizenship amendment bill, 2016 if it is turned into an act.
It may be mentioned that the free coaching camp was organised for two months and during the camp about 76 students took part.
