1.04 lakh households in the State to be provided power connection, says Biswajit
While alleging that the congress party had been destroying the country, Power minister, Biswajit questioned what they had done for the past so many years regarding the lack of infrastructure and man power.
Speaking as the chief guest of the inaugural function of 33/11 KV Sub-Station at Kasom Khullen today, minister, Biswajit said that the congress party encouraged divide and rule and they work without a strict and proper ideology.
Asserting that there will be no development without peace, he also said that go to hills mission undertaken to bridge the gap between hill and valleys, had been started by the present government. And it is a big achievement for the present government, he added.
He also said that the congress party, who had been rejected by the people in the election, should slow down and stop criticizing the present government.
Saying that the people are aware about how many years the congress had ruled the country and with the huge amounts of money and time wasted, he questioned why there is still lack of development in the hills and the valleys. It is a party working only for the welfare and benefit of its own without caring for the people, added the minister.
There is a visible change in the two year’s rule of the BJP government and the BJP is not against any religion and culture. However, the congress party has been spreading wrong image to the people, he stated.
He further stated that the divide and rule policy of the British has been followed and encouraged by the congress party but the BJP works for all round development of every citizens.
Questioning what MP Meina had done for the people in the last 15 years, he said that there will also be many people in the State who still do not recognise him. He also questioned why the people failed to ask the MP where he had used the funds for the people. The MP should clarify how he utilised the funds, he added.
Saying that the MP is unfit, he also said that the MP failed to collect the basic information about the State. He should stop spreading wrong information to the public, said Biswajit.
In his speech as the chief guest of the inaugural function, Biswajit said that electricity was taken from Thoubal in the past but the power supply could not fulfil the expectations of the public.
But as a part of the Prime Minister’ vision to deliver power supply in every household of the country before December under Saubhagya schemes, the sub-station had been installed to give better uninterrupted power supply to the villages in the area, he added.
Saying that Kasom Khullen had been isolated socially and economically for many years, the minister also said that installation of the sub-station can help in elevating the condition of the area. He further said that seventeen sub-stations had been set up and handed over to the people under the present government.
A 10MW sub-stations in Chingai, Somdal , Kachai, Sinakeithel, Nambashi and Namphisa villages is under process and a detailed project report has been prepared under the funding of world bank and State share to set up sub-station in Siwa, Fencorner, Tungou, Behiang, Tuinim, Ferdang, Lambui, Sirakhong. And upgradation of kamjong sub-station and Tusom.
Before Christmas, power will be provided to Bundung, Manthouram, Kando, Kangkhum, kolbung, kachoram, Phungchong, Makhan and Nambasid. K khasang khullen, Bunpung, Wangle, Namli, Resophum will be provided electricity under 11 plan within the month of January, he assured.
Substation of 33/11 KV will also be set up at Nambasi Khullen in the future
While appealing the people to use LED blub, he also handed over 1000 LED blub for the poor families villagers of the villages
Saying that the power supply in the State is better than the past, the minister also said that plan had been initiated to replace 333kv line, 132kv line and 400kv line with 1000kv line which will further solve the shortage of power in the State and also meet the demands for power supply while setting up industries.
Saying that the target of Saubhagya Scheme is to provide power connection to all households in the country by December this year, the minister further said that the State will be able to declare that power connection has been provided to 1.04 lakh household in the State by next week.
He also lauded the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited and Manipur State Power Company limited for their efforts to improve the power sector in the State
While appealing the people to observe the changes and development under the present government in the State, he also said that roads under the funding of Asian Development Bank with a width of 18 feet will be upgraded from the village to the area Police station and further appealed the people to exempt the compensation of the affected land.
He also said that 35 to 40 kilometer long SDO Kasom to Namil road will be constructed under central Road Fund next year and further said that discussions will be organised with the higher authorities to set up bank for the convenience of the people.
The minister while saying that the average sex ratio and the average child sex ratio of the Kasom Khullen is very low as compared to the State ratio. He further appealed for empowering the women and asserted that the development of an area depends on the empowerment and status of the women.
Bishwajit further said that the government also has plans to construct elevated highways, footbridges in Imphal, ring road and improvement of Tengnoupal to Sansad road.
Saying that increasing the number of entrepreneurs will decrease the number of unemployment, he also appealed the people to avail the different schemes of the government and contribute for the development of the area.
Managing director of MSPCL N. Sarat Singh during his speech appealed the consumers to pay their electricity bills as the companies are mainly depending on the consumer bills.
