Students must know their responsibilities, behave as students and need not step in to participate in every activities of the society, said Revenue minister, Karam Shyam today while attending as the chief guest of the third edition of Xtra Premium Quiz, 2018 at City Convention Centre.
The competition was participated by around 700 students.
Shyam, who is also the minister of PDS and Consumer Affairs, said that quiz competitions are great opportunities for students to get threshold in exposure to national level competitions. This is a very competitive age of science and information technology. He also said that participating in quiz competition will help students in seeking more knowledge and appealed the students to utilise their time well and bring the society in the right direction of development.
Impressed with the spirit of competition among participants, the minister said “My hope and trust upon the future pillar of the nation will be fruitful”.
He further stated that teenage is a crucial period, where one can become as stubborn and naughty as one can get, and it is also a right time to learn and gain extra knowledge besides the bookish facts. Learn good habits from your early age, he added.
Besides having determination, students must give maximum labour to achieve their dreams instead of regretting when it is late, said the minister.
Noting the importance of youth, Shyam said that the youths have a great role to play in bringing positive change in the present society so that it would be stable in the future.
Deputy general manager (RS) of State Level Coordinator, Indian Oil Corporation Imphal, Sinam Ibungton Singh, general manager of The Hindu, Kolkata, Goutam Mitra and Dr. Rajendra Singh also attended the function as presidium members.
The competition was organised by the Indian Oil in association with The Hindu.
