Public of Jiribam welcomes K. Sarat Kumar SinghJIRIBAM| Dec 4
The public of Jiribam organised a reception ceremony today for vice-chairman of Manipur Food Industries Co. Ltd. and general secretary of BJP (Admin), Manipur State, K. Sarat Kumar Singh at the office of Apunba Jiribam Meira Paibi (AJMP).
K. Saratkumar Singh and president, AJMP, S. Sushila Devi shared the dais at the reception ceremony during which AMWOVA Jiribam, Neta Irawat Memorial Trust (JIMET) and Jiribam United Committee (JUC) presented K. Saratkumar Singh with simple gifts as tokens of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, N. Nivarani Devi of Women Association for Socio Economic Development (WASED) stated that majority of the population of Jiribam district belongs to the economically backward section; and so the appointment of a person from Jiribam as vice-chairman of Manipur Food Industries Co Ltd. is a tremendous achievement. “I believe that he would surely aid and be involved in the development of Jiribam,” she added
General secretary of JIMET, Jiribam, Ch. Ranjit Kumar also conveyed his hopes and aspiration that Saratkumar will be instrumental in the development of the district while chairman of JUC, Maipaksana Mangang expressed the need for unity in every sphere in order to bring all-round development of Jiribam. He also asserted that there are a several officials who are unwilling posted at Jiribam while adding that “if a local from the district holds the said posts or responsibilities, Jiribam would not have faced all these problems.”
“However, there is need for the public of Jiribam to be responsible and also arrange for suitable jobs for qualified individuals of the district,” Maipaksana Mangang continued adding an appeal for all to be united in the effort to bring development in the district.
Sarat Kumar, in his speech, assured that he would give his best efforts in resolving the controversy regarding the tea-garden in Jiribam while also stating that he is there for the people of Jiribam while making a prayer that he could continue helping the people of Jiribam.
“If the people ever need me in regard to any problem, please feel free to approach me as I am always there for the people,” he continued while adding his further reassurances that even if he might not be able to spend a lot of time at his native place of Jiribam he will always be there for the people.
“The unemployed youths of the district would be provided jobs after the resurrection of Jiribam tea estate which was decommissioned during the time of the previous Congress government,” he asserted adding that after the BJP- government came into power, plans are underway to revive the tea estate with the objective of increasing resource and revenues of the state.
Sushila Devi also conveyed her appreciation for the tasks taken up by Sarat Kumar while also expressing her faith and hope that he would surely aid in the effort to develop the district along with the resurrection of the Jiribam tea estate.
